Alpe Adria Junior Championship Black Star Speedway Visonta
This year’s first Hungarian round of the Alpe Adria Junior Championship was held at the Black Star Speedway Visonta track, concurrently with the MBH Investment Bank National Youth Championship and the Slovak Youth Championship.
Alpe Adria competitors represented themselves in four categories: PW50, MiniGP 110, MiniGP 160, and GP2. A total of 24 participants registered, including Slovak, Czech, and Hungarian youngsters.
The Visonta track has been renewed this year and welcomed the competitors with completely new asphalt. Not only the race but also the weather posed a challenge for the youngsters, as this Saturday was one of the hottest days of the year.
As usual, the most populous field was the Yamaha P50 category, consisting of the youngest riders, with 10 competitors starting in Visonta. After an exciting race, the first place was won by Péter Plachy, who competed on his home track and finished first in both races. He was followed on the podium by his two Slovak rivals in the combined evaluation.
In the MiniGP 110 category, a very fast young Slovak managed to secure the first place ahead of Gergő Hernádi, followed by Kevin Laczkó, who finished third on the podium.
Among the MiniGP 160 pilots, there was a fierce battle, resulting in great races. Both rounds were ultimately won by Márk Mohai, ahead of Milán Szklenár. In the second race, Milán was in the lead, but due to an unfortunate overtaking incident, Márk managed to better capitalize on the opportunity and then held onto the first place firmly. Dávid Péceli stepped onto the lowest step of the podium, followed by Lucian Végh and Stanislav Kohut, with Péter Gaál closing the field.
Although the GP2 category is not part of the Hungarian championship, two Hungarians also showcased their skills this weekend, thanks to Alpe Adria. Kristóf Barta performed better in the first race, but he encountered a technical issue in the second race, allowing Ádám
Levánszky to bag the first place on the podium, with Czech Karolina Jandikova coming in second and Kristóf Barta third in the overall evaluation.
