On the adrenaline-filled Hungarian circuit of the Pannonia Ring, the first races of all categories of the Alpe Adria International Motorcycle Championship took place, marking the second round of the season. A weekend full of special appearances, including Patrick Hobelsberger in Superbike: here’s what happened in Race 1 on the scorching Magyar track.
SBK/STK1000 – In Superbike, victory went to German Patrick Hobelsberger, who showed impressive speed and set a new lap record of 1’49. He ended Michal Filla’s dominance, with Filla second and Christoffer Bergman third. Mate Szamado won the Stock 1000 category with a sixth place overall, ahead of Max Melzer and Julius Ilmberger.
SSP300/SPORTBIKE – In Supersport 300, reigning champion Daniel Turecek took the win, confirming his dominance in the class. Barta Kristof and Vaclav Bittman followed. Patrycja Sowa finished fourth overall and won the WEC. In Sportbike, a new class this year, Greek rider Konstantinos Mavropoulos claimed victory, ahead of Julius Latein and Lukacs Owen.
SSP600/STK600/SSP NG – Kecskes Bence won both the overall and Stock 600 class in his home race, sharing the podium with Enej Logar and Karlo Grsic. Luca Tommasini was second overall and won the Supersport Next Generation, while Alexandros Papageorgiou triumphed in Supersport 600 ahead of Daniel Ersek and 2024 champion Tomas Svitok.
CUP 1000/CUP 600 – In the 1000 Cup, Vukasin Bajic beat Leon Jurcak in a close finish, with Miomir Pojic completing the podium. In the 600 Cup, Akos Kaloczi led a Hungarian one-two with Gyorgy Jozsef Gyigor, while Italian Luca Caldari took an excellent third after a sprint finish with Dusan Kovarik.
