Alpe Adria Road Racing is still the most important regional road racing championship in FIME. After 26 years from the first race on Grobnik, Alpe Adria Road Racing is still going forward. A lot of riders started in AARR championship and after some years of experience in AA they participated in EWC, WSBK and MotoGP on the highest level. Gabor Talmacsi started his career in AARR and later he became World champion of class 125GP.
During the AAMU general assembly and AARR commission meeting held 17th of December in Opatija, AARR promoter, Slovakia Racing Group, decided not to promote and organise AARR championship in season 2017. Different point of view how to organise next AARR season and particulary different point of view regarding mono tires in all classes, was a reason for Slovakia Racing Group to quit contract after three years. Commission imediately decided to organise next season without the promoter. National championship races in season 2017 of Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Czech republic and Poland will be held inside AARR championship, but also a lot of Slovakian, Hungarian, Turkish, Romanian and Bulgarian riders will join AARR championship next season. AARR commission already prepared Sporting & Technical regulations for season 2017 and the only important job left now is to publish calendar. Stay tuned, very soon we will have a lot of news…
