(BREAKING NEWS) FIME Superstock1000 in Alpe Adria from season 2019
Last September FIM Europe and Dorna WSBK Organization have announced that as of 2019 the European Superstock 1000 Championship will no longer be part of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship.
FIM Europe is now planning to create a European Superstock 1000 Cup, as from 2019, in the Alpe Adria series.
Looking ahead to the future Dorna expressed the opinion that the removal of the STK1000 category from the WorldSBK paddock will bring more value to national STK championships around Europe.
The calendar of the Alpe Adria Series is interesting, on well-known European circuits where the FIM Europe Supersport 300 Cup is already taking place and will continue also in 2019 – with Assen, Oschersleben and Slovakiaring there are 3 premium tracks in the calendar.
The Cup will consists of 6 events and at each event there will be 2 races: one on Saturday and one on Sunday. The races will be livestreamed and live timing will also be available.
The tyres can be chosen freely by the teams and we expect an interesting battle between the big tyre Manufacturers.
The Technical Regulation will be mostly the same as the latest Championship, with some small changes.
The minimum weight is 170 kg for all motorcycles.
Tyres: the number of tyres for each event is free. The brand of tyres is free. Pirelli, Dunlop and Bridgestone are the official tyre suppliers in the Alpe Adria paddock.
The number of engines are free.
